Getting Started

What is this ?

This application is specially designed for creating and editing multitrack QuickTime movie files. These files can then be played by QMidi or any other compatible software, such as QuickTime player (*).

Usage

  1. Create a new document and add the audio/video tracks, either using the "+" button or by draging the files in the tracks list.
  2. Edit the track name, layout and other attributes.
  3. Save.

Supported file formats

You can create tracks with the following file types:

mp3, m4a, aif, wav, mov, mp4, m4v .

Tracks attributes

ID (read only)

A unique track identifier assigned by the software.

Enabled (editable)

All enabled audio tracks will play at the same time and should have the same format and sample rate.

Track Name (editable)

An optional name to identify the track.

Format (read only)

The track audio/video format.

Audio Layout

The audio layout description.

Start Time and Duration (read only)

The start time of created tracks is always 00:00. Tracks can have different durations.

Volume (editable)

The track volume from -inf to +6db, the default is 0db.

Channel Label DropDown Menu

Use the channel label dropdown list to specify where the channel’s sound should be directed.

Tracks Contextual Menu

All tracks to discrete channels in order

All audio tracks will be routed to discrete channels in ascending order, starting from the first audio track (discrete 0, discrete-1, discrete-2, ...)

Shift up/down from selected track

Increases or decreases the discrete channel of all audio tracks (where applicable) starting from the selected track.

All tracks to applicable layout

All audio track layouts will be set according to their number of channels (1 channel -> mono, 2 channels -> stereo, 3 or more channels -> surround)

All volumes to 0db

Reset the volumes of all audio tracks to the default value of 0db.

Tracks extraction

To extract the tracks as separate files, select them and press the "Extract ..." button, or drag them to the destination folder. Audio tracks are saved in the CAF (Core Audio Format) format.
